CSK VS RCB Highlights – Overview
An extraordinary performance by 3D Ravindra Jadeja powered Chennai Super Kings to win by 69 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK with this win climbed the ladder and moved to the top position in the points table. This was the first loss for RCB this season.
CSK VS RCB Highlights – A special batting performance by Jadeja: Chennai Super Kings’ captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni opted to bat first after winning the toss. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis gave Chennai a steady start with a 74 runs partnership laying a good foundation. But CSK’s middle-order failed to accelerate the innings in the middle and looked like will settle for 160~170. But the onslaught from the all-rounder Sir Ravindra Jadeja changed the complexion of the match. He hit five sixes and scored 37 runs in the last over off Harshal Patel to take the score to 191. Jadeja was on fire today and displayed his tremendous power-hitting skills. Faf du Plessis scored a fifty off 41 deliveries.
CSK VS RCB Highlights – Harshal’s last over: Royal Challengers bowlers did a decent job to keep the run-rate in control till the 19th over. Yuzvendra Chahal got the opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and bowled at a good rate. Harshal Patel bowled excellently well in his first three overs taking three wickets and giving away just 14 runs. But his bowling figure got screwed after the onslaught from Jadeja. Still, he was the most successful bowler for RCB picking up three wickets. Kyle Jamieson again failed to delivered today went for 10 runs an over giving away 31 runs off his three overs.
CSK VS RCB Highlights – RCB lost momentum: As RCB lost the momentum in the last over, it was going to be tough for the team to regain confidence and go for the chase. At one moment, expecting to chase 160~170, the last over changed the scenario. Wankhede Stadium is known for its high-scoring games but the wicket was a bit slow today and chasing 191 could have been tricky for the Challengers.
CSK VS RCB Highlights – Batting Perished for RCB: Devdutt Padikkal gave a flying start to RCB. RCB scored 44 in just three overs with Padikkal doing the bulk of the scoring. But Sam Curran struck in the 4th over and took Virat Kohli’s wicket. Soon after Kohli, Padikkal got out caught picked up Suresh Raina while trying to pull the ball off Shardul Thakur over. RCB kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Glenn Maxwell played a good inning for 22 but no other batsmen kept it going. Jamieson who was unimpressive with the ball scored a 13 ball 16 and went run out by Imran Tahir.
CSK VS RCB Highlights – Good bowling by RCB: It was Jadeja again with the bowling and fielding who did the trick for Chennai Super Kings picking up three wickets in the middle. After a great start by the RCB batsmen, Sam Curran took an important wicket of Kohli upfront. Then Shardul Thakur struck to send the dangerous Padikkal to the Pavillion. Then it was all Jadeja’s show.
CSK VS RCB Highlights – Jadeja’s Magic Spell and throw: Jadeja took four wickets in the middle overs, three with bowling and one with his super throw. He deceived both Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers, Maxwell missed the fuller one that hit the stumps. De Villers was deceived by the spin and played the wrong line to get dismissed. In between the two wickets, Jadeja dismissed Daniel Christian with a sharp throw from the cover. Imran Tahir playing his first match in place of Moeen Ali bowled an excellent spell and picked up two wickets.
CONCLUSION
A great day Chennai Super King and Ravindra Jadeja. The win is dedicated to him due to his all-around performance in all three departments.
