England captain, Eoin Morgan is out of the series and will not play the last two one-day international against India due to a split in the webbing between the right thumb and index finger while fielding in the first ODI. The captain was declared unfit after the practice session at the MCA Stadium on Thursday.
Morgan said, “I re-tightened my hand before training started today, but it quickly became apparent that I was protecting the injury and getting into the wrong positions to catch the ball.
There is no place on the field of play that I can hide in international cricket these days, especially in limited formats as far as I’ve existed. I don’t need a lot of thinking to be unavailable.

Morgan says, “The injury is extremely frustrating, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I Will have to wait till the cut heals. I hope and have full faith that the team will do well with Jos leading and the rest of the team in good shape.
Sam Billing has injured his collarbone while diving to stop a boundary in the outfield. Sam will be not available for the second ODI and further decision for the availability in the third ODI will be taken on Sunday after the examination.
Billings didn’t go for the practice session on Thursday after sustaining a bruise on his left collarbone in Tuesday’s opener and the injury remained sore Thursday.
Jos Buttler will lead the team in the absence of Eoin Morgan. After a 66 runs defeat in the first ODI, it will be tough for the standing captain to make a come back missing their two experienced campaigners.
Liam Livingstone will make his ODI debut in place of Morgan and Dawid Malan available for the selection can make into the team. Matt Parkinson and Reece Topley also have a good chance of making it into the eleven for the 2nd ODI in Pune.
